Inspection is poised to be one of the primary industries to adopt drones — and it’s no wonder. Traditional means of inspecting buildings, utilities and other infrastructure are time consuming, labour intensive, and susceptible to human error and accident. By contrast, drones can capture data for inspection purposes in minutes or hours, rather than days, while at the same time reducing the need to put humans in potentially dangerous environments.
Here at Hovershotz, we are currently evaluating the DJI Zenmuse XT thermal camera (designed by Flir). We have been vetted and approved by DJI & Flir, to offer thermal surveys in Cumbria & Lancashire (to our knowledge Hovershotz are the only drone operator approved in Cumbria & Lancashire). We are now starting training on how to use the Zenmuse XT and having one of our DJI Inspire professional drones upgraded to have FPV (so that the drone pilot can see what the drone sees, while the camera operator can see & control what the thermal imaging camera sees).
